PetPad Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PetPad (“PetPad,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you access or use the PetPad mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

This Privacy Policy should be read together with the PetPad Terms of Use. By creating an account or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and the practices it describes.

1. Scope and Application

PetPad currently operates within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), beginning in the State of Kuwait. This Privacy Policy applies to all users who access the Platform in the regions where it is offered.

Certain features — including service bookings and payments — are available only in specific regions and only where supporting vendors and payment infrastructure exist. As PetPad expands into new markets, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect the legal requirements applicable in those markets.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

We collect information that you provide directly when you use the Platform, including:

  • Account registration details, such as your name, email address, and username;
  • Profile information and pet-related details that you choose to add;
  • Content you upload or share, including posts, images, captions, and comments;
  • Business account information and verification documents, where you register as a business or vendor;
  • Information you provide when you contact us for support or submit an inquiry.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device information, such as device type, operating system, and application version;
  • Usage data, such as the features you use, your interactions, and timestamps;
  • Log data, crash reports, and performance metrics;
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address.

2.3 Information We Receive from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Payment service providers, in connection with transactions you make;
  • Service providers that support the operation of the Platform;
  • Vendors and business partners, where you interact with their services through the Platform.

3. Payments and Financial Information

Payments on the Platform are processed by MyFatoorah, a third-party payment service provider, which facilitates KNET and other supported payment methods.

With respect to payment processing, PetPad:

  • Does not store your credit card, debit card, or KNET card details;
  • Does not process payment card transactions directly;
  • Receives only the limited transaction information necessary for record-keeping, reconciliation, refunds, and customer support.

Payment card information is collected and handled by the payment service provider in accordance with its own privacy and security practices and applicable payment-industry standards.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform;
  • Enable social features, including profiles, posts, interactions, and community engagement;
  • Facilitate bookings, payments, refunds, and vendor communications where these features are available;
  • Verify accounts and administer business and vendor features;
  • Provide subscriptions, promotions, and advertising features;
  • Communicate with you, including service updates, security notices, and, where permitted, marketing communications;
  • Monitor usage, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines;
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Grounds for Processing

We process your personal information where one or more of the following applies:

  • to perform our agreement with you, including providing the Platform, your account, bookings, and payments;
  • with your consent, for example for certain marketing or tracking technologies, which you may withdraw at any time;
  • for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and promoting the Platform, where these are not overridden by your rights; and
  • to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting obligations.

Where we rely on your consent and you later withdraw it, this does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

6. Public and Private Content

Content that you choose to make public may be visible to other users of the Platform and, depending on your settings, to the wider public. Content designated as private is intended to be visible only to users you approve.

You should be aware that no digital platform can guarantee absolute confidentiality. Content you share may be copied, stored, or re-shared by those who can view it, and may be disclosed where required by law.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use analytics and measurement technologies, including software development kits (SDKs) integrated into the application, to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it. These technologies fall into the following categories:

  • Analytics technologies, which help us measure app usage, engagement, retention, and performance;
  • Advertising and attribution technologies, which help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing and understand how users discover the Platform.

These technologies may collect device identifiers, usage events, and similar technical information. We use this information in aggregated or pseudonymized form wherever practicable.

Your tracking choices. Where required, we rely on your consent to use advertising and attribution technologies, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. On iOS devices, we ask your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and we will only use tracking that relies on your device’s advertising identifier if you allow it. You can also limit or reset advertising identifiers and manage tracking through your device settings. Disabling these technologies will not prevent you from using the Platform, although some features and measurement may be affected.

8. Advertising and Promotions

The Platform may display advertising or promotional content. We may use information about how you use the Platform to:

  • Display advertisements or sponsored content;
  • Measure the performance and engagement of advertising;
  • Improve the relevance and quality of the content you see.

We do not use the content of any private communications for advertising purposes. Our advertising practices may evolve over time, and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With vendors, where necessary to facilitate a booking or deliver a service you have requested;
  • With service providers that support hosting, analytics, communications, or customer support, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
  • With payment service providers, for the handling of transactions;
  • With advertising or business partners, in connection with Platform features;
  • With legal or regulatory authorities, where required by law or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of PetPad, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may provide aggregated or anonymized insights and analytics to business accounts in connection with Platform features. Such insights do not identify you individually.

10. Data Storage and Location

Your information is stored and processed on secure cloud infrastructure operated by PetPad and its service providers. This infrastructure may be located in Kuwait or in other jurisdictions, depending on operational requirements.

Where information is transferred or stored outside your country of residence, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with applicable law and this Privacy Policy.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as it is necessary to:

  • Provide the Platform and its features to you;
  • Comply with our legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax obligations;
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

In general, account and profile information is retained for the life of your account. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, transaction records) for a longer period under applicable law. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before they are overwritten.

12. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal-data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will take appropriate steps to contain and address the incident and will notify affected users and, where required, the relevant authorities, in accordance with applicable law and within any timeframes the law requires.

14. Children and Minors

The Platform is intended for users aged 13 and above. Users under 13 are not permitted to create an account or use the Platform.

Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for that consent and for the minor’s use of the Platform and the information the minor provides. We rely on the information provided to us about a user’s age and parental consent. We may request confirmation or evidence of that consent, and we may introduce additional measures to verify age or consent over time.

A parent or legal guardian may contact us at any time, using the details in the “Contact Us” section, to review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s personal information, or to withdraw consent.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

15. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal information;
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing;
  • Opt out of marketing communications.

You may delete your account directly through the in-app settings. Following deletion, some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, as described in Section 11.

How to exercise your rights. To make a request, just contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

16. Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites and services, including vendors and payment providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party before providing them with your information.

17. Governing Law and Language

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kuwait. It may be provided in English and Arabic; in the event of any conflict between the two versions, the Arabic version shall prevail.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above, and where the changes are significant, we will provide additional notice through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
